This week on NXT the match that was scheduled last week of Cody Rhodes vs Lucky Cannon took place tonight. Cody told WWE officials to make this a 5 Minute Challenge because Cody knows he can beat Cannon in less than 5 Minutes. Cody of coarse delivered good on his promised with one minute to spare as he put Lucky down with the Cross Rhodes and took the win in just 3:58 minutes.
I apologize for the brief delay on this week’s Superstar Results. A lot was going on this week but we are back to normal :), so on to the results! This week on WWE Superstars Cody Rhodes debuted a new look so to speak. Rhodes came out wearing a black jacket which he described in an interview that he was inspired by ArchAngel from the X-Men.
Cody Rhodes took on Chris Masters, who was seeking a victory since being embarrassed by Ziggler the week before. Sadly for Master, Cody Rhodes proved to be the better wrestler and beat Master after delivering the vicious Cross Rhodes.
This week on Smackdown we saw Cody Rhodes make his long awaited return and debut on WWE’s Friday Night Smackdown. Rhodes took on John Morrison which was Morrison’s last match on Smackdown due to being drafted to RAW. The match lasted approximately 8 minutes total giving Rhodes and Morrison enough time to put on an amazing match, which they did. During the match we saw Cody pull out his own version of the flying chuck on the outside. Cody also pulled out a few favorite moves such as the moonsault, knee to the head and the perfectly executed Alabama Slam.
Cody Rhodes won the match after hitting Morrison with the Cross Rhodes. Morrison did not even see it coming as it happened out of no where making it even more devastating. Also it should be noted that Matt Striker put Cody over as well as naming him the Uncommon Man, which Cody also happened to have in his new trunks.
After so much speculation of Cody Rhodes heading to Friday Night Smackdown it has finally been confirmed. Cody Rhodes has been selected by the Smackdown team to join them on Friday Nights. Check out what WWE.com had to say about it below.
Cody Rhodes brings the experience he gained under Randy Orton’s tutelage to Friday nights. After being punted in the head by The Viper at WrestleMania, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes will no doubt look to regroup and follow in his father’s footsteps, thus creating his own legacy at the top of SmackDown.
Be sure to check back later tonight, If all goes well Smackdown should be taped tonight and we will know if Cody would make an appearance or not on Smackdown.
First of all I want to congratulate Cody Rhodes on finally making it to the biggest stage of them all. This would no doubt be the beginning of a beautiful year for Cody Rhodes. Although Cody did not win his match at Wrestlemania, he did proof that he has what it takes to be the next big thing and it’s only a matter of time before this happens. Randy Orton ended up winning the match after punting Cody Rhodes and delivering a massive RKO on Ted DiBiase for the win.
Tonight on RAW saw Legacy team up to take on former mentor; Randy Orton, in a handicap match. Both Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase got their sweet revenge from last week’s mishap. Ted ended up pinning Randy Orton after Cody Rhodes distracted Randy to have Ted hit Dream Street for the pinfall. Cody and Ted were not through though as Cody picked Randy up and hit him with a VICIOUS Cross Rhodes! Legacy then ended the night by mocking Orton with his signature pose.
Tonight on Monday Night RAW we saw Cody’s tag team partner Ted DiBiase take on former mentor Randy Orton. Cody Rhodes made a surprised entry to attack Orton but things did not go as planed when Randy countered all their moves. Just when you thought Randy was going to DDT Cody, Ted steps in and pulls him out of harm. What does this mean for them? Is Cody Rhodes officially with Ted DiBiase on this? Is Randy going face?
This week on RAW saw Cody Rhodes talking backstage with Randy Orton and explaining his actions from last night’s Elimination Chamber which once again cost Randy Orton the match. Randy seemed to blame himself for everything and even told Cody to tell Ted that he was sorry, oddly enough. Cody & Ted seemed to be on the same page and had some sort of plan for the 6 Man Tag Team Match which was next.
Sadly the match and Cody/Ted’s plan didn’t go so well when Cody tagged himself in and Randy Orton suprisingly attacked Cody with his signature DDT laying him out and proceeding to RKO Ted DiBiase. Legacy ended up losing the match after Evan hit the Shooting Star Press.
This week on RAW Cody did not have a match, however he did come out during the first match of the night which was Randy vs Sheamus. Unfotunately for Rhodes, he got caught once again interfering in the match, thus disqualifying Randy once again. Randy was not pleased which lead to a big RKO on Cody Rhodes, leaving Cody & Sheamus down, and Ted DiBiase knocked out on the outside (who was punt kicked by Sheamus).
Where does this leave Cody’s relationship with his Legacy partners heading to the Elimination Chamber this Sunday? Would Rhodes still be part of Legacy? Is Legacy over? Stay tune for more information as the weeks progress.
After a terrible week last week, Randy Orton informed Cody Rhodes that he had a match against him tonight. Cody Rhodes ended up winning the match after hitting a vicious Cross Rhodes on Randy Orton for the pinfall! After the match Sheamus attacked Randy with his own version of the punt kick, Cody however made the save when Sheamus was about to beat on Randy some more. A great victory for the history books!
